"His way was to pursue birds who had food in their mouths suitable for humans and snatch it from them; then the birds would follow and snatch it back; and they would all go chasing after each other gaily for miles, parting at last with mutual expressions of good will. But Wendy noticed with gentle concern that Peter did not seem to know that this was rather an odd way of getting your bread and butter, nor even that there are other ways." Peter Pan, page 45, J.M. Barrie

I like the bird. It's a friendly one.

And yes, I remember that part of the text! I especially remember that part that Peter obviously didn't know there was any other way to get food; I always wondered why Wendy didn't simply tell or teach him another way. After all, they flew for a rather long time... they had time to chat... but then again, Peter is not very talented at listening for a longer period... but maybe, if Wendy told him something; after all, she was obviously fascinating to him.

I feel ashamed to say this, but I laughed at the line "chasing after each other gayily".

On another note! I think that Wendy actually likes this way of getting food - But just because Peter did it.

@snow crystal: she might have mentioned something but he has a serious remembering problem, so I doubt he'd remember it. ^_^ Plus he keeps running off to have adventures without them ^_^;;
