There is so much characterization of Peter in this section of the book, you really get to see him for the heartless boy that he is.

Not sure if you can call him heartless... he's just egoistical to a point where he can't imagine anyone other than himself to have feelings... everything in his univers circles around him, and him alone. It doesn't really matter if anything changes, because it will continue existing only to his enjoyment.
But yes, you're right. Much of his characterization takes part in this part of the book ;)
And OH, how much he is enjoying this!

@snow crystal: Oh, Wendy calls him heartless, as well as the narrator too, I think. You can only fly if you're innocent and heartless ^_^

@TriaElf9: That's true... but I don't think he's really heartless, anyway. Depends on the defination of "heartless", though.

@snow crystal: I think Barrie means it slightly differently. At one point in the play, he implies that Peter literally doesn't have a heart, but right before he nearly dies on the rock, it starts beating, or something.
